Sculptor and teacher, also known as C Thomas Bayley, born in Willesden, London. Was educated at Chester School of Art and Royal College of Art, in 1922 gaining his diploma, in 1923 a travelling scholarship. During World War I Bayley had served with the Royal Field Artillery in France, Egypt and Palestine, producing panoramic drawings and maps. For the 1924 British Empire Exhibition Bayley modelled a map of the world. Showed at RA and in the provinces, notably Cheltenham, where he taught at the School of Arts and Crafts. Joined the Art Workers’ Guild in 1931. Lived in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, and in London.
