Painter, printmaker and teacher, born in Ystalyfera, Glamorgan, South Wales. Worked for a time in coal mining. Studied at Swansea School of Art and at Royal College of Art until 1924 under William Rothenstein and Frank Short. He went on to become art master at Slough Grammar School, 1940–61, after a period in New Zealand, then taught at Slough College until 1968. Exhibited RA, NEAC, RWS, Leicester Galleries and Paris Salon. National Museum of Wales, Cardiff, and Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Swansea, bought his work. Lived in Slough, Buckinghamshire.
