This landscape is the first detailed and accurate image of Warrington and shows it as a pleasant county town with some fine buildings, notably the newly built Bank Hall to the left (now the Town Hall) and the tower and cupola of Holy Trinity Church in the centre. The painting also shows the beginnings of industrialisation, notably the Bank Quay Glassworks to the left.
